Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to drive enterprise‑level analytics initiatives, lead cross‑functional projects, and deliver executive‑ready insights that influence strategic decision‑making. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and hands‑on experience working with complex healthcare datasets, including EPIC (Clarity, Cogito, Reporting, Data Models)

Responsibilities:
Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning
- Develop datasets from large, complex, and incomplete data sources.
- Troubleshoot data quality issues and improve data pipelines and processes.
- Evaluate new tools, technologies, and vendors to support analytics strategy.
- Build, validate, deploy, and maintain advanced machine learning and statistical models.
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities.
Enterprise‑Level Leadership
- Lead high‑priority analytics and data science initiatives with enterprise‑wide impact.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, including A‑C level executives.
- Partner with business, clinical, operational, and IT teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
Mentorship & Technical Guidance
- Mentor and coach junior data scientists.
- Provide best practices, code reviews, and technical leadership across the analytics team.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
- Advanced SQL skills (3–4/5+)
- AWS Certification required (active)
- 7+ years of professional data science experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R (3–4/5 proficiency)
- EPIC experience required: Clarity, Reporting, Data Models, or Cogito.
- Hands‑on experience building custom ML models (not just exploratory analytics)
- Experience working with healthcare data, EHR data, or clinical/operational datasets.
- Strong statistical foundation: hypothesis testing, A/B testing, modeling, distributions.
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related STEM field.
Leadership & Communication
- Experience leading analytics or data science projects.
- Experience presenting insights to A‑C level executives.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Preferred Skills:
- Master's degree in Data Science or related field.
- Experience with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Experience with GenAI/LLM projects (RAG, embeddings, fine‑tuning)
- Experience improving data pipelines, ETL processes, or data architecture.
- Experience with healthcare analytics, medical informatics, or revenue cycle data.
