Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to drive enterprise‑level analytics initiatives, lead cross‑functional projects, and deliver actionable insights that support strategic decision‑making. This role is ideal for a senior data professional who thrives in complex environments, enjoys mentoring others, and can translate sophisticated analytics into clear, executive‑ready insights.

You will work with large, complex, and often unstructured datasets, applying advanced statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and modern cloud‑based tools to solve high‑impact business problems.

Requirements:

  • Evaluate new tools, technologies, and vendors to support analytics strategy.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues and improve data pipelines and processes.
  • Lead high‑priority analytics and data science projects with enterprise‑wide impact.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to junior data scientists.
  • Develop datasets from large, complex, and sometimes incomplete data sources.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership, including A‑C level executives.
  • Partner with business, clinical, operational, and IT teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Build, validate, deploy, and maintain advanced statistical and machine learning models.
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities.

Qualifications/Must-Haves:

  • AWS Certification (required)
  • Strong programming skills (Python, R, or similar)
  • 7+ years of professional experience in data science.
  • Experience presenting insights to A‑C level executives.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with large datasets.
  • Project lead experience on analytics or data science initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience building datasets from large, complex, or incomplete data sources.
  • Advanced statistical knowledge (distributions, hypothesis testing, modeling, etc.)
  • EPIC Cogito experience (Cogito, Clarity, or healthcare analytics platforms) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related STEM field required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in Data Science or related field.
  • Leadership, mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer‑service mindset.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience improving data pipelines, ETL processes, or data architecture.
  • Experience with healthcare analytics, EHR data, medical informatics, or revenue cycle data.
