Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Scientist II to support our SharePoint environments and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT and SharePoint administration, coupled with a passion for data-driven decision-making and collaboration technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain SharePoint environments (Online and On-Premises), including legacy portals and SharePoint Portal Online (SPO).
- Develop and maintain websites, sub-sites, and pages.
- Manage site collections, permissions, and security policies to ensure secure and efficient collaboration.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, apply updates, and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Integrate SharePoint with Microsoft 365 tools (e.g., Teams, Power Platform) and automate workflows using PowerShell.
- Create, edit, and reverse-engineer SharePoint workflows and develop business processes to support portal and public sites.
- Provide user training, technical instructions, and support to optimize SharePoint functionality and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Perform customer service functions, fielding up to 50 support requests per day, with issue resolution expected within two business days.
- Coordinate with departments to establish, maintain, and enhance their SharePoint sites
- Design and facilitate group sessions on IT, SharePoint, and system support topics.
- Enforce governance policies and ensure compliance with command security protocols.
- Develop and maintain a SharePoint Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related field
- Minimum of five years’ experience with SharePoint tools, workflow, site customization, site and server security, and strong problem-solving and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) required
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
