  Core Responsibilities:     

  • Lead foundational data and analytics efforts supporting BUMED initiatives, with emphasis on data integrity, quality, and governance across clinical,  readiness, manpower, and administrative data domains.
  • Translate leadership questions into clearly defined metrics, analytic methods, and decision-ready outputs aligned to planning timelines and operational priorities.
  • Integrate data from multiple legacy and enterprise systems using extract-based workflows, ensuring traceability, documentation, and auditability within access-constrained government environments.
  • Support the development of reusable, decision-centric data products, including curated datasets, validated metrics, analytic views, and documented logic that enable repeatable and scalable reporting.
  • Design, develop, and maintain decision-focused dashboards and reports that provide timely visibility into readiness, risk, and performance metrics, directly supporting operational planning and leadership decision-making.
  • Develop executive-ready briefings and narratives that clearly communicate findings, assumptions, limitations, and implications for decision-making.
  • Mentor junior analysts and data scientists, reinforcing disciplined data practices and governance-aware analytics.


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in data science, analytics, or applied data roles within the federal contracting space required.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, defense, or readiness preferred. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Power BI, and similar tools for data analysis, modeling, and dashboard development.
  • Demonstrated experience working with messy, multi-source enterprise datasets and operating in constrained or regulated data environments.
  • Experience supporting data governance activities, such as metric standardization, data quality validation, documentation, or enterprise reporting alignment.
  • Ability to translate complex data issues and findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

This position requires the employee to be a US Citizen and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. This position may also require the ability to obtain a higher security clearance.


Work Environment

Work will be done in an office setting/environment and will need to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment. The person in this role will need to have the ability to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time and occasionally will need to move about inside an office environment. This position frequently communicates with other employees and external stakeholders. The person needs to have the ability to accurately exchange information in these settings
