Your expertise will help shape DTNA’s top imperatives (i.e. prioritized strategic initiatives) by collaborating with team members and business partners to understand the company’s data landscape and demonstrate to executives and operational teams how it drives overall success.

Position offers a starting salary range of $104,000.00 - $133,000.00USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to DTNA’s long-term vision by leveraging data to ensure our strategy is grounded in empirical evidence and measurable outcomes—turning data into a competitive advantage in long-term planning. Your expertise will help shape DTNA’s top imperatives (i.e. prioritized strategic initiatives) by collaborating with team members and business partners to understand the company’s data landscape and demonstrate to executives and operational teams how it drives overall success.

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Quantify strategic choices: Use machine learning algorithms to build scenario models (market, regulatory, adoption curves, cost-to-serve, capacity, and risk) that inform the prioritization and sequencing of DTNA’s top imperatives. Package recommendations for DTNA’s Operating Committee (OpCom) decisions.
  • Imperative deployment analytics: Work with business partners to define success criteria and KPIs for the imperatives and other strategic initiatives; build dashboards to track progress, surface risks, and enable course corrections during implementation and sustainment.
  • Business Development and Corporate Responsibility: Partner with the Business Development team on JV/partnership analytics (e.g., value realization, portfolio health), with Autonomous Technology Group (ATG) on autonomous‑related strategy inputs, and with Corporate Responsibility on sustainability metrics aligned to global targets.
  • Data Liaison: Collaborate with Corporate Development teams, business partners, Daimler Truck AG, and external partners to ensure data access and alignment.
  • Data Modeling and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Create data pipelines to use internal and external data to build tables and/or databases for analysis and reporting.
  • Stakeholder enablement: Coach strategy leads and initiative owners on interpreting models and dashboards; solicit feedback to improve accuracy, usability, and adoption.
  • Executive-level storytelling: Create concise, visual narratives and exhibits for OpCom and senior leadership, translating complex data findings to business implications and recommendations.
  • Data Science Trends: Stay abreast of the latest AI & data analytics trends to push the boundaries of data science solutions employed by DTNA.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline includes data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, finance or similar, and 5-7 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficient with one or more programming languages like Python, R, or SAS.
  • Proficient with one or more dialects of SQL.
  • Proficient with one or more business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Alteryx.
  • Foundational knowledge of data warehouses like Snowflake or Databricks.
  • Ability to align Business Intelligence efforts with strategic objectives.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Skillful in presenting data in a compelling narrative that facilitates understanding and decision-making.
  • Adaptive and continuous growth mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced ambiguous environment.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and relationship building.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective at prioritizing tasks, managing multiple projects, and meeting deadlines.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to bring ideas and insights towards a bigger picture.
  • Current or prior work experience in the automotive and/or commercial trucking industry.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Master’s degree or higher.
  • Any Data Science Certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI to solve problems or improve efficiency.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like Tensorflow, PyTorch and Scikit-Learn.
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of advanced statistics in analyses like Multivariate Analysis (e.g., Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Regression Analysis (e.g., Logistic or Poisson), and Time Series and Forecasting (e.g., ARIMA/SARIMA).
  • Demonstrate experience with data warehouses like Snowflake or Databricks.
